Faith Community Academy (FCA) is a private, non-denominational Christian school that is a key ministry of Faith Community Church in Tucson, Arizona. FCA maintains an enrollment of approximately 150 students in preschool through 5th Grade.
Faith Community Academy is a school and community of Christ followers seeking to meet the goal established in Ephesians 4:12 of equipping the saints for the works of ministry and for building up the Body of Christ. FCA is not a replacement of the home or church, but rather is an extension of the Christian home, partnering with parents to help each child develop in faith, character, and knowledge, with the ultimate goal of helping each child as they embark on the path of fulfilling God’s calling on their lives. At FCA we maintain three core values.
First, we operate from a Biblical Christ-centered foundation of faith in all that we do. All of our staff are active members in their churches and their love of Christ overflows in the love they have for their students. We desire to help our students grow in faith and strengthen our students’ knowledge of Christ’s desire for their lives through education in the classroom, weekly chapels, and service opportunities.
Second, we desire for our families and students to grow in community. We create space for families to connect through different events and volunteer opportunities. Students enjoy getting to know students outside of their classroom walls through chapel families and buddy classes. We embrace the servant leadership model set for us by Jesus, and desire for our students to learn how to properly serve one another and our community. |
Finally, we are rigorously academic, placing tremendous value in the quality of education we offer and the desire to prepare our students to be successful wherever they may continue their education. We have an amazing faculty and staff who put Christ first in their classrooms and love and serve our students on a daily basis. |
In 1991 Pastor Bruce Brock, Senior Pastor of Faith Community Church, followed the leading in his heart to begin a Christian school as a ministry of the church to provide the highest quality in Christian academic and spiritual education for the Tucson community. Faith Community Preschool opened with four students and two teachers on September 8, 1992. The year ended with 16 students, and Kindergarten began the next year. As the school grew and grade levels were added, we stopped at fifth grade and became who we are today, Faith Community Academy.
Through God’s grace, our classrooms are full, our community is growing and flourishing, and our heart is to serve God wherever He might lead. That being said, we are prayerfully and completely trusting our Lord to provide His long-term vision for our school and look forward to seeing Him work in our community.
