FAQ’s
Q. What grades does FCA offer?
A. We offer three year-old preschool (must be toilet-trained) through fifth grade.
Full day Kindergarten students must be five years old by September 1st of the current school year and pass our entrance testing. We make no exceptions.
Q. How often can my preschooler come to school?
A. Your preschool student may attend 2 to 5 days per week. You enroll them for the number of days you desire for them to attend and then you choose the specific days of the week. Once you have committed, then your child’s space is reserved for those days only. Each day’s activities are designed to meet the learning and developmental needs of your preschooler. (3 years old and potty trained/practicing independent toileting.)
Q. What is the tuition?
A. see tuition schedule under “admissions”
Q. Do you have scholarships?
A. All students in Kindergarten – 5th grade are eligible for the ESA through the state of Arizona. Need-based scholarships are available for Kindergarten through 5th grade students only through the Arizona Tax Credit program. Online application is required, and computers are available in the school office if the parent needs internet access. If you may not qualify for need-based funds, then pursue raising your own tax credit donations for your student through the tax credit program. Ask our office for more information. A. No (but we do encourage church attendance!) Please see our Statement of Faith and Family Lifestyle Statement (in the Parent Handbook) for more information.
Q. What does FCA’s curriculum look like?
A. We use the A Beka curriculum for all core subjects. A Beka uses an intense phonics based program for Preschool – 2nd grade with great reading success. Additional resources and programs are used for special subjects. These include but are not limited to, DeepRoots (Bible) and Purposeful Design (Science). Art, Spanish, Latin, Music, Poetry, grammar and creative writing also use a variety of text resources. We update and review our curriculum needs on a regular basis to ensure good teaching practice and good student learning.
Q. How do I enroll my child?
A. We ask that all parents schedule a tour to get to know our campus and office staff. Once you feel it is a good fit then pursue the apply option on our website, www.fcatucson.org under admissions. The final step is to complete enrollment after final acceptance into the program. There is a testing/evaluation process required for all students in Kindergarten-5th grade and may be requested for Preschool.
Call us as you have questions and we will help you complete the process.
Q. Is there a deadline? Will I be on a waiting list?
A. Enrollment is completed on a first come, first serve basis.
Your assurance will come the sooner you complete the process, and waiting lists do happen.
